PADRONIZAÇÃO ESTRATÉGICA DE OPME EM UMA OPERADORA DE SAÚDE

Brazil is among the largest health insurance markets in the world, however, factors such as population aging, predominance of degenerative diseases and the speed with which new technologies appear on the market, explain a scenario where the rational use of services, inputs and technologies is so difficult. Combining these factors with the high costs of the process we have a great challenge to be overcome. In addition, it is necessary to deal with the different interests of stakeholders (doctors, patients, regulators, industries and distributors) that turn any project or action related to this reality into something much more complex. The strategic standardization of Orthoses, Prostheses and Special Materials (OPME) was carried out in a health operator, using quality and economic sustainability as fundamental pillars, in addition to the use of management tools that attributed excellence to the project. Quality indicators have shown improvements, with non-conformities reduced. Economically, the results showed a cost reduction of 7%, in the period when the Average Hospital Cost Variation (VCMH) increased by 17.3%. The standardization efficiency reached 83% of the volume of materials used. According to Prince2, a project is considered successful when it meets the business need that was the basis for the business case justification. It is concluded that the project added value to the health care provider, not only by improving quality, but also in meeting the need to control spending on a specific class of health materials.
