Tecnologías emergentes y la transformación de la gestión de la innovación

Resumen

Las tecnologías emergentes se han asociado con transformaciones significativas en los procesos de innovación organizacional. Sin embargo, la evidencia que sistematiza cómo estas tecnologías influyen en diferentes dimensiones de la gestión de la innovación y qué factores condicionan sus efectos es aún limitada. Por lo tanto, este estudio busca identificar y sintetizar las características de la innovación en contextos de tecnologías emergentes, con el fin de describir sus efectos en dimensiones centrales del proceso de innovación, como las capacidades organizacionales, las prácticas de innovación abierta, los mecanismos de gestión del conocimiento y las dinámicas asociadas a la transformación digital. Para ello, se realizó una revisión sistemática para identificar y caracterizar cómo las tecnologías emergentes han impactado los procesos de innovación, con el fin de crear una base de evidencia que nos permita comprender en qué medida sus características son similares o diferentes a los modelos tradicionales de gestión de la innovación, especialmente en lo que respecta a sus efectos en aspectos clave de la gestión. Los resultados indican que las tecnologías emergentes impactan los procesos de innovación de las organizaciones más allá de sus límites. También se observó que estas tecnologías contribuyen a compartir infraestructura para la innovación; el estudio aborda la recopilación de datos y la toma de decisiones en tiempo real para los procesos de reconfiguración organizacional; la codificación del conocimiento tácito; la necesidad de aprendizaje organizacional continuo; y la creación de nuevos modelos de negocio. Contribuye a la literatura al proponer un marco teórico que sintetiza la comprensión de cómo las tecnologías emergentes afectan el entorno institucional y los Sistemas Nacionales de Innovación, potencian las prácticas de innovación abierta, incrementan digitalmente las capacidades organizacionales, digitalizan la gestión del conocimiento, demandan nuevas competencias organizacionales y contribuyen a la generación de nuevos resultados de innovación, destacando así cómo las tecnologías emergentes reconfiguran, tanto interna como externamente, los procesos innovadores en las organizaciones.
