Abstract

The theme of this research is Education and Ethnic-Racial Relations: the Diversity of Knowledge and the Cultural Experiences of Teachers at a School in São Paulo, the problem question is: what are the effects of ethnic-racial relations in teaching and in the production of knowledge in Brazilian public schools? The main objective is to recognize the impacts of the diversity of knowledge and cultural experiences in the daily life of a Brazilian public school. The specific objectives are to analyze the teachers' perception of ethnic-racial relations in the curriculum and to recognize the diversity of cultural knowledge in the school. The methodology used is literature review, through bibliographic research. It is concluded using a paragraph from the new BNCC, which says that valuing the diversity of knowledge as well as the cultural experiences in schools, and the appropriation of knowledge and experiences tend to enrich the teaching and learning process, because they make it possible to understand one's own relations of the world of work and enable them to make choices aligned with the exercise of citizenship and their life project, with freedom, autonomy, critical awareness and responsibility. Reaffirming in schools the principles of equality and non-discrimination recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
