MANUFACTURING PROCESS STRUCTURING SCHEDULE MANAGEMENT IN INTEGRATED PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
Changes in society's behavior and needs are increasingly complex and unpredictable. COVID-19 was the most recent event that transformed the behavior of the entire population and impacted the world with millions of deaths. In this scenario, organizations are adopting integrated product development as a strategy to respond faster to market pressure and competitiveness and meet society's demands. Based on this, this work aimed to structure the manufacturing process in integrated product development in a medical device industry. First, the scope of the process engineering department in the organization was structured through benchmarking with specialists in the manufacturing area. Then, the mapping and sequencing of activities, the estimation of duration and later the preparation of the schedule were carried out. As a result of this work, it was possible to verify that a manufacturing area is different in each organization, since this is directly correlated with the context, technological level, business model and market segment in which the company operates. Based on the structuring of the scope of action, a proposal was made for the integrated product development process through a schedule of manufacturing activities, considering the simultaneous engineering work. Finally, with the implementation of this new process, a reduction in project development time is expected, allowing a gain in time to Market for new products.
