In this article, I present a section of the training experience conducted over a semester with undergraduates from the 3rd period of the Integrated Degree in Education in Science, Mathematics and Languages - LIECM from the Federal University of Pará, offered through the Institute of Mathematics and Science Education - IEMCI. The discussion herein intends to shed light on the importance of promoting the learning of teaching since the first semesters of the undergraduate course. The theoretical basis that supported this research is directly related to studies on teacher education and, also, on the mathematics education of the future teacher who will work in the early years of elementary school. In this article, it will be possible to understand the profile of the undergraduate students involved in the study, their perspectives when entering the undergraduate course, and the significant changes that occurred during the investigation. This article will describe and analyze one of the episodes that, according to the results obtained with the research, allowed the undergraduates to understand the importance of the approximation between theory and practice during their initial training process.
