Abstract

The state of Paraná has sought to implement Construction Information Modeling or Building Information Modeling (BIM), in public projects, through several initiatives. One of them was the implementation of regional engineering, architecture and urban planning offices at state universities with the aim of serving small municipalities with projects prepared using BIM. Given this context, the aim of the work was to present the implementation of the regional office located at Unicentro, noting the work methodology adopted and its potentials and difficulties. The methodology adopted was based on the analysis of the views of the multidisciplinary project team, with different stages of training and BIM knowledge, through unstructured interviews and data from the projects prepared, therefore being an exploratory research. The results obtained highlight its advantages in use, as well as the obstacles encountered in the compatibility process, with incompatibilities reported that directly affected communication between the different project disciplines and quantitative and cost information.
