Abstract

This study aimed to analyze and expose the paths and challenges faced by athletes of paracyclism. For that, the oral life history methodology was applied, followed by a semi-structured questionnaire, with a participant of the sport in question. It was found that the difficulties encountered, mainly to break the initial barrier, are relevant challenges, however, the benefits that sport can come to offer is also of great value. In this sense, it is possible to conclude that the person with disabilities has many difficulties throughout life in its various phases, but adapted sports, whether by inclusion or high performance, brings a new meaning, enhancing the quality of life not only of the athlete, but of everyone around you.
